Blankfort denies Israels right to speculate about Syria.

I wonder why Jeff hates the Jews so much that he attempts to color a people's right to speculate about what a nation, still at war with Israel, might be planning.

How sick is Jeff? Very sick.

"Assad may embark on a war against Israel sooner than expected." This is from Israel's widest circulation newspaper. This mentally sick writer assumes that the war will happen, as the mentally sick Israeli government prepares its equally mentally sick Jewish population for yet another war. I have have long maintained that Zionism is a mental illness whose leadership and adherents are difficult to distinguish from the criminally insane. It appears from this talk of war with Syria that the world is going to be presented with the latest such example. When will the world have the courage and the wisdom to put a stop to it?-JB http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3407946,00.html

I will look for the source, but I saw a news piece that quoted a Israeli Intelligence source as saying that Syria has no plans to attack Israel.

Let us look at it reasonably. If Syria attacked Israel it would hurt its global reputation which it is trying to repair. It would surely face the U.S. military, or at the least the IDF with strong backing from the U.S. Where is he going to be resupplied in such a war? Iran?? They do not have the depth of supply, in manpower or equipment.

Not to mention, Syrian knows well that the IDF would make childs play of them. The recent Lebanon conflict was different. That showed once again that you can not fight against non-conventional warfare with conventional tactics. One would have thought they reviewed the Vietnam debacle in the Israeli version of OCS.

Indeed, it would be foolish for Syria to attack Israel. But that has never stopped an Arab army from attacking if they thought they could win.

You are correct. However, the politics globally, or even regionally, is quite different than it was during the times of the Israel-Arab wars.

I think that the current leadership in Syria is more pragmatic than in prior years, and will see no benefit to waging a war they can not win. I think they have enough insight to see they would not win.

What we think that the Arabs are thinking is of little use.

Planning is all that we can do and planning that the Arabs will not attack is foolish.

Perhaps it can be considered foolish. However, constantly preparing for attacks perpetuates the cycle of violence.

Nearly a hundred hears has past since the genesis of the conflict in Palestine. After all these years of preparing for wars, and fighting them we have steadily widened the gulf between our society and theirs. What we need is to put aside our anger, hatred, and prejudice. We need to realise that both sides are human, and both sides ultimately want peace.

If peace is truly desire able, and I believe it is, then taking the first step in extending an empty hand as a gesture of peace is worth while. There is the risk that the hand may get cut off, but it is a acceptable one.

I understand where you and many like you are coming from. I do not mean to invalidate your feelings, and concerns. They are very valid.

The killing must stop and we must do so by any means possible. Waging war to obtain peace is like having sex to preserve virginity. Only not waging war will preserve peace.

Yes, if you are not prepared, your enemies attack you and you are dead. No more cycle.

Do you actually think before you post?

It appears that the Arab side does not want peace but a chance to set up the odds to attack at a later date.

Your hatred and ignorance of the Arabs spurs you to assume they are out to kill you every moment they breath.

So sad.

Your ignorance encourages those same Arabs to lure you to your death. You may go thre with God's speed.

But I will certainly not assist you on your suicidal journey.
