Why is Blankfort so bothered by the concern of what would happen to Jews living in an Islamic fascist state of Palestine?

NOAM CHOMSKY: Before saying a word, I’d like to express some severe personal discomfort, because anything I say will be abstract and dry and restrained. The crimes against Palestinians in the Occupied Territories and elsewhere, particularly Lebanon, are so shocking that the only emotionally valid reaction is rage and a call for extreme actions. But that does not help the victims. And, in fact, it’s likely to harm them.

We have to face the reality that our actions have consequences, and they have to be adapted to real-world circumstances, difficult as it may be to stay calm in the face of shameful crimes in which we are directly and crucially implicated.

Here is Jeff's take on Chomsky's intellectual and heartfelt understanding of reality:
This is an extraordinary statement but unfortunately not a surprising one from Chomsky who has not only opposed any action taken by the progressive movement in the United States to penalize Israel for its years of dispossession and occupation of Palestinian land and its chronic invasions and attacks on Lebanon, but has even tried to torpedo them and stature and his contributions in other areas can no longer be allowed to shield him for the public criticism that his actions in protecting Israel and the Zionist power structure merits.

NOAM CHOMSKY: .[A]nother familiar fairytale that you could read about a couple of days earlier in the New York Times, where the respected policy analyst and former high government official, Leslie Gelb, wrote that every US administration since 1967 has privately favored returning almost all of the territory to the Palestinians for the purposes of creating a separate Palestinian state. Note the word "privately."
Crucial. We know what the administrations have said publicly. Publicly they have rejected adamantly anything remotely of the sort ever since 1967 -- ’76.

Chomsky is no less a teller of fairytales than is Mr.Gelb. The facts of the matter are that every administration beginning with Richard Nixon has attempted to get the Israelis to withdraw from the lands it occupied in 1967, not for the benefit of the Palestinians, but for something that Chomsky does not seem to understand, US national interest.

Is this the reason for Blankfort's turn to the dark side of moral judgement? He feels that sacrificing the lives of a few million Jews is in the best interests of the US? Read on, there is more.

Every one of those attempts except that of Jimmy Carter at Camp David has been shot
down by a combination of the Israeli government and its 5th Column in the US and the evidence for this Chomsky has conveniently hidden from sight while repeating the canard that it is the US that is mainly responsible for Israel maintaining its hold on the occupied territories and preventing the emergence of a Palestinian state which would, if it came into being, would not only be a feather in the cap of the
president, but would add another vassal state to the US Middle East stable, something the Israelis wish to avoid at all costs. Chomsky, in fact, rejected the Palestinian aspirations for a single democratic secular state until the PLO accepted Israel's existence in 1978 and he still rejects that idea because, like other Zionists across the political spectrum, he fears what would happen to the country's Jewish population should the Arabs become the majority. As for his "path to Mideast peace," he has already done a good job of undercutting that.

And, of course, Jeff has to plug his own brand of antisemitic material.

This is beyond satire. The whole concept of "anti-semitism" was crafted by the Jewish establishment world-wide, well before Israel's existence, and well before WW 2, to distinguish prejudice against Jews from other types of racism in order to give the impression that it is something far more sinister and repulsive than other forms. And here we thought 'antisemitism' was a term invented by a German social scientist using it to differentiate between hating Judaism and hating Jews as a people.

Is it not interesting that a number of Jewish leaders over the years have made comments noting that a little anti-Semitism is not so bad because it keeps Jews united? I guess that's what makes it different. I don't recall representatives of any other group victimized by racism or prejudice claiming that such maltreatment was beneficial (But Jeff, you don't recall much of anything that doesn't help your hate filled agenda.) What other group is constantly taking and publicizing polls such as those commissioned by the ADL and other Jewish organizations to determine if non-Jews in the US and Europe think that "the Jews have too much power," an affirmative answer, that is, the truth, being considered by the Jewish poll takers as evidence that it is. Their plan has clearly worked. There is not a single museum in the United States that chronicles the crimes committed against the indigenous peoples of this country, or the Americas, or a single museum that details the viciousness of slavery in the way that the Holocaust Museum in Washington and the 90 other such museums across the country focus on the crimes committed against the Jews by the Nazis, with whom, ironically, the Zionists in Palestine collaborated with until the beginning of the war. Of course, this latest joke of a task force is just further evidence that the Jewish Zionist lobby runs the US Congress. Should there be an Israeli attack on Iran, which has always been more of a possibility than one launched by the US, the current situation in Iraq will appear like a garden party, albeit a grisly one, in retrospect, with the possibilities of a wide spread Middle East war likely to be the outcome with a major disruption of the regional oil supply and a crisis in the world's economy a by-product. It should be clear that the prospect for such a scenario would not even be on the table were it not for the constant drumbeat over the past two years by the Jewish Zionist lobby in the US and only that lobby, spearheaded by its neocon strike force.

Given the power of the lobby over the US Congress as well as the White House, we can expect loud applause from both Houses of Congress as well as the leadership of both political parties as well as from their leading presidential candidates should Israel attack. This will, of course, understandably inflame the already existing anti-American sentiment around the globe and make US institutions as well as its citizens targets for retaliation.

What better time than that for the administration, in the spirit of Operations Northwoods, the sinking of the USS Maine, and quite likely, 9-11, to launch a smaller version of 9-11 or series of such events around the country in order to justify the imposition of martial law? I have been skeptical of such a scenario up to now, but as the administrations of both Bush and Olmert have seen the bottom fall out of their popularity ratings and consequently neither have anything to lose, and while the lobby has been behaving as if it is on steroids while the Congress is on valium, this disaster may well await the world.-JB

Today what is considered to be "anti-semitism" by the Jewish establishment is more often than not the observable truth. This article follows the tradition of the US and worldwide left in steering clear of the truth and offers no analysis as to why the Democrats are so willing to follow the pro-Israel agenda. He describes Lieberman as "an unapologetic supporter of the Iraq occupation," but not what really drives Lieberman who is an unapologetic supporter of Israel. This was on the front page of Thursday's LA Times and reads like a piece "ghost written" for the paper by someone in the Zionist Propaganda Ministry. That it appears in the :LA Times which at one time was one of the few papers not under the Zionist thumb and is currently up for sale is depressing.
